The event will gather players together to interact with one another while participating in a range of Pokemon-themed activities.
Real-world events will also be hosted across Europe and in Japan, with The Pokemon Company organising a "Pikachu Outbreak" event in its home country. An in-game "Fire & Ice" event will also take place from June 13th.
An incredible first year
"It's been an incredible first year for Pokemon GO thanks to the passion and dedication from the global Trainer community," said John Hanke, CEO of Niantic, Inc.
"As part of the first anniversary, we'll be giving players around the world the chance to enjoy fun in-game events, engage with friends and other trainers at real-world events, and much more."
Pokemon GO doesn't get as much coverage in the media as it did when it first launched, but it continues to perform extraordinarily well for Niantic. As of April 2017 it had 65 million MAUs, which is around the size of the UK's population.
