The trailer has just enough pre-2000 references to set the vibe before it turns violent and funny (death by Tamagotchi might be a cinematic first). Y2K made its world premiere during South By Southwest earlier this year with it earning mixed and positive reviews. Not terrible especially with this being Mooney's first feature under his belt. In addition to his stint on SNL, Mooney also wrote 2017's Brigsby Bear--which he starred in--and created Netflix's Saturday Morning All Star Hits, 2021年，一部80年代和90年代卡通风格的成人动画系列。
